Joining the Mid-state Beekeeper Association can be highly beneficial for both new and seasoned beekeepers.  As a new beekeeper, you can gain access to a community of experienced beekeepers who can provide you with guidance and support as you learn the ins and outs of beekeeping.  You can attend educational events, workshops, and seminars to gain knowledge about various aspects of beekeeping, such as colony management, disease prevention, and honey extraction.  Additionally, you can benefit from the association's resources, including access to equipment and mentorship programs.  For seasoned beekeepers, the association provides opportunities for ongoing education, collaboration with other experienced beekeepers, and access to new research and techniques in the field.  Being a part of the Mid-state Beekeeper Association can help you improve your skills, stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field, and connect with a community of fellow bee enthusiasts.

Todd started keeping bees in 2007 and now manages approximately 20 hives.  He is a Journeyman Beekeeper through the SC Beekeeping Association and has led the MidState Beginning Beekeeping Class since 2015.  He enjoys helping new beekeepers discover the art and science of beekeeping to become "Certified Beekeepers" as well as mentoring them through their journey.

Other than teaching new Beekeepers, the MidState Beginning Beekeeper's Class gives "Certified" Beekeepers working toward their Journeyman certification an opportunity to build experience and credits.

We are so excited for this year's beginning beekeeping class!  As of right now, we have over 70 people registered - this is pre-Covid numbers!  We are happy that word has gotten out about the class and people are expressing interest in beekeeping.  We hope to see some new faces in our upcoming meetings and workshops.
